Summer Slam 2019 - Week 2 - Day 3

Hello Parents,

Overheard at arrivals this morning:

Good evening to you all. We had another awesome day at Summer Slam 2019. Please scroll down to have a look at what we did as the day went by.

We are persisting, with a shout-out to you, to sign-up for the beach clean up.  We still need more volunteers. We look forward to your support. Thank you.
Cookery - Pancakes and maple syrup

You can't go wrong with the homestyle pancakes drizzled with maple syrup and served with a thick pat of butter. Sounds good right? Yep, that was our cookery project for the day!

We got down to measuring the flour that we needed, got the sugar, salt, baking powder ready and then we mixed all our ingredients. We then added in the egg and milk into the batter and presto,  we had the batter!

We all took turns to pour in the batter into the pan, to make our very own pancakes. Yum! The extra-special part was the 'creative and imaginative' shapes of the pancakes, that the children made - we had dinosaurs, hearts, rabbits and many more. Now that was fun!
Finally, the wait was over, we tucked into our homemade pancakes and they tasted every bit as good as they looked. Just look at the pictures - the
Gymnastics: with Coach Annie:

Coach Annie was bouncing away today, and we had so much fun learning some new routines. The Front support hold, Single leg up, Handstand with straight arms, our main skill for the day was the kick up, to perform a handstand. more videos to follow.
Inventors: (the fan)

So now for the next step, we got busy with assembling our own perfectly usable fan. How cool is that!
Step 1: fix the base to our mini version of the table fan which is also a portable fan.
Step 2: fix the motor and the blades to the fan
Step 3: Fix the battery holder to the base
Step 4: Connect wires ( - ) (+) to the motor and battery
Step 5: Switch on the fan to cool yourself down!
Geography:
This is a project consisting of several stages. It is more like a puzzle and is coming along well. Today, we coloured our continent and our Planet! We had a few talks going around about how it would be to live on other planets. The ideas and thoughts were interesting.
Lunch:

Our friends now take turns to set up the table while our younger friends are wash up for lunch. It is nice to see the children working to together to and getting the lunchroom ready. Lunch was a social gathering and everyone had an enjoyable meal.

We are cooking tomorrow! Since we went all American with having Banana Bread and then Pancakes this week we decided to make the indispensable, all-time 'quickie',  Mac and Cheese!
So please do no send lunch if your child is able to have the main item on the menu. We plan on packing some takeaway boxes too!

Today, we had (???) as post-lunch entertainment.
Music and we're 'all shook up'!
We are getting our Blue suede shoes on… doing a little Rock and Roll, it's all happening on Thursday and we do have a surprise for you! Music is just in so give us a little time to prepare.
Craft- Guitar!
Ooh, this was the best part of the day! We all got to have our 'cut-out' guitars and of look forward to jazzing them up, as Elvis would like his (well we think so anyway!).  Soon, we shall be in rocking and rolling, to the unmistakable sounds of the King!
Sports
Uncle Dennis and Sathish worked more on our techniques such as dribbling and learning to shoot! This is no easy task! We have to practice more as the big day, The Game, falls on Thursday, given that we are away at the beach on Friday.
